DIY Custom Chalkboard Sign

Hey there! I want to show you how I made this DIY Chalkboard sign. It super easy and too cute not to show off. Plus this is an awesome resource to learn how to make any kind of sign yourself!

I bought this pack of two black canvas's from Michaels. They come in all different sizes and mimick a chalkboard pretty well. Buy here

Print out your pretty find to the appropriate size. I found my image on google, saved it. Opened in in Picasa and created a poster by 200x to make a four page image. If you want to make this same sign, I have the images available for free at the end of this tutorial. Just right click, save as and print. Etsy is an awesome place to look for just the right image. You can usually buy a file for around $5 in most shops.

Tape your pages together

You'll need white transfer paper. I got mine at Hobby Lobby. They don't seem to have the kind that I bought anymore, but THIS would work just as well. You can also check any of your local craft stores. Hobby Lobby was just the only place I could find.

Put transfer paper down first and then your copy pages on top.

And start drawing the pattern with a pencil or pen. Push hard to make sure it transfers well.

This is a peek to see how the transfer is going on my black canvas.

This is my end product after tracing

You can use any Chalk Marker. I suggest using chalk marker because it won't smudge off easily. You can use a wet rag to clean up any messups or make a new board for a new project. I got my chalk marker for $1 at Target.

And this is the middle process... yes, your hand will hurt!

And you have your own custom chalkboard sign! This is great for any special occasion or just for quotes around the house. Super easy, inexpensive and fun :)

Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Taking the time and
actual effort to create a great article… but what can I say…
I hesitate a lot and don't manage to get nearly anything done.
